UTFP’s Resource toolkit

Unite to Fight Poverty’s (UTFP) Resource Toolkit aims to provide a centralized location for limited income or limited resource Americans to find the help that they need.

Resources from the states that UTFP works with will be highlighted, and information about SNAP eligibility will be available for all 50 states. Information will be available for the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Montana, Tennessee, and Texas.

Alabama

  • North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless

    Provides walk-in housing assistance

    Offers street outreach, rapid rehousing, and homelessness prevention services

  • Community Food Bank of Central Alabama

    Supplies millions of meals per year to over 230 partner agencies, like food pantries, shelters, and children’s programs in 12 counties across central Alabama

    Feeding Alabama

    Works to end hunger by assisting the food bank network in obtaining more food and funds, fostering public awareness of the food banks’ mission, and creating partnerships to help alleviate hunger in Alabama

  • Alabama Family Central

    Helps connect individuals with education, healthcare, child services, and family resources

  • Low Income Household Water Assistance Program

    Utilizes grant funds to restore or prevent disconnections of water services to eligible households, pay water services arrearages, and help reduce water and wastewater burden by assisting with current bills

  • Child Care Financial Assistance

    Full range of services includes counseling, parent education, marriage enrichment, mentoring, services for business and industry, child care support services, senior services, adult day care, career development, job training, and other therapeutic services for families

  • Legal Services Alabama

    Provides free, client-centered, civil legal advocacy to low-income Alabamians and collaborates with others across the state and nation to find solutions to systemic issues caused by poverty and social justice inequities

  • Family Violence Prevention

    Provides a women’s shelter and a man’s shelter
